ST. GERTRUDE THE GREAT OF HELFTA
“The Eucharist was central for her and she experienced particular
manifestations of our Lord’ presence in that sacrament even during the mass in
the presence of the community. In her the Office and Mass, far from conflicting
with personal, interior prayer, were the source and occasion of some of the
most intimate revelations and most interior union with the Lord Jesus.
Homily by Rev. Father John Eudes Bamberger
”What struck me when reading about the visions of St Gertrude is the truly
intensely personal nature of the relationship. The Lord is almost
embarrassingly concerned with every little aspect of Gertrude's life - personal
and communal. Any yet He remains the Lord of wide swathes of history. “
Homily by Fr. Gerard D'souza
