Mission Statement:

We are Catholic women (single, divorced and widows) who live in the world. Through spiritual friendship, we try to support, help and learn from one another as we dedicate our lives to seek, to serve and love God above all else and in all things.

 

Our goals and norms:

Sustained by God's love and mercy and advised by Rev. Father John Eudes, we try to help, encourage and support one another in learning how:

- to be independent

- to gain confidence and healthy self-esteem

- to practice virtues which will help lead to purity of heart by

o  Practicing perseverance, fidelity and faithfulness

o  Practicing honesty, openness, trust and humility

o  Living charity

- to be involved spiritually and participate actively in activities during group meetings and other commitments

Saturday monthly meeting: horarium and requirements
We usually follow schedule I. Schedule II is observed when there are visitor(s) or associate member(s) join us.

Location and time: New Helfta studio & Genesee Abbey. We usually meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

 

Schedule I (Genesee)
1:00 - 2:00 Opening prayer / group discussion / sharing

2:15 - 3:45 None, Rev. Father's conference and confession

4:00 - 5:15 Mass followed by Vespers
5:20 - 5:30 Comments / final prayer
6:00 Supper (optional)

Schedule II (New Helfta studio & Genesee)
12:30 - 1:15 Opening prayer / dinner / greetings

1:30 - 2:00 Group discussion/sharing

2:15 - 3:45 None, Rev. Father's conference and confession

4:00 - 5:15 Mass followed by Vespers

5:20 - 5:30 Comments / final prayer.

Mandatory requirements for committed members

1. Attend monthly meeting.

2. Monthly, submit a written reflection on the assigned readings the day before the meeting date.

3. Bring 2-3 questions to Rev. Father's conference.

4. Attend daily mass if possible; otherwise, read some Scripture passages.

5. Either pray the Divine Office or the Rosary and do meditation daily.

6. Daily spiritual reading, preferably two extended periods in the day.

7. Join daily designated prayer times (pray for Rev. Father and group members before lunch, especially for one's prayer partner.)

Requirements for associates living at a distance:

1. Monthly, submit a written reflection on the assigned readings the day before the meeting date.

2. Send in 2-3 questions for Rev. Father's conference.

Requirements for guests

1. Please email Minh at Minhkh@rochester.rr.com in advance of your visit (at least 2-3 days prior to the meeting date)

2. We will send you a part of our assigned readings so you can participate during Rev. Father's conference.
