HOW TO GET TO THE MONASTERY

 

  1. By Plane

a. Take the flight to Iloilo

b.   1. Take a taxi and tell the driver to bring you to Ortiz. (around P300).

2. Take a shuttle bus to SM City (Mandurriao) (P50) then take a taxi to Ortiz (P100). Or instead of the taxi take a jeep marked SM CITY PROPER (P7).  (Please inform the jeepney driver you are going to Ortiz).

            c.  At Ortiz buy a pumpboat ticket to Jordan (P11).  Then sign the manifest of the vessel after you get your ticket.  You will need to walk a little distance

                  along the breakwater to board the pumpboat.

            d.  P.S. It is also possible that the pumpboat terminal has been transferred to “Parola”.  You will be informed of this at Ortiz St.  if this is so direct the                  taxi/tricycle driver to go to Parola.  Then buy a pumpboat ticket to Jordan (P11).  Sign the manifest of the vessel before boarding the pumpboat.

 

  1. By Boat

a.  1. Get the boat to Iloilo.

                 2. For those from Cebu – Get the Trans-Asia or Cocaliong boat to Iloilo. They usually leave between 6-7 p.m. and arrive in Iloilo at 7-9 a.m.

            b.  Upon reaching the Pier (Port San Pedro) take a tricycle to bring you to Ortiz (P15).  Ask the tricycle driver if the pumpboat terminal has been  

                  transferred to Parola first.

c. If the pumpboat terminal is at Ortiz go to instructions of 1 c.

                  d. If the pumpboat terminal is at Parola ask to be taken there.  Then buy a pumpboat ticket to Jordan (P11).  Sign the manifest of the vessel before      

                        boarding the pumpboat.

 

  1. At Jordan

           a. Get a jeepney to Alibhon. (P11).

           b. At Alibhon get a tricycle to “Trappist”. (P20).  Ask to be taken to the Guest House of the monastery.
               Or from Jordan you can take: A tricycle (P80) or multicab (P160) to bring you directly to the “Trappist” Guesthouse.
